Neurosurgery for brain tumours.

We have funded a number of operations to remove brain tumours.

We work with neurosurgeon Dr Ssenyonjo, one of just twelve neurosurgeons working in Uganda and one of the few specialising in paediatric neurosurgery.

As neurosurgery is a complex operation that take a lot longer and need more post-op care these are more expensive than the more routine operations we fund.

Sometimes our patients have needed multiple operations to either to drain fluid from the brain for first (by inserting a shunt) or have had multiple tumours.

We’ve been very fortunate that the children who we’ve helped have been diagnosed in time and surgery has been a success including Daniela’s and Rashid’s operations for brain tumours.
