Fundraiser Training – Which apps can help?

 

Whether you are walking, cycling, swimming or doing something else, apps can help you train, track progress and stay motivated whilst fundraiser training for Humanity Direct. Here are some options for different activities.

Apps for each sport.

For Running and Walking

  • Couch to 5K – A beginner’s app that builds up over 9 weeks, perfect for those new to running during your fundraiser training.
  • Strava – Tracks your runs, walks and hikes with GPS, so you can monitor progress and share with supporters.
  • Nike Run Club – Guided runs, personalised coaching plans and motivation to help you stay on track.
  • MapMyWalk – Ideal for setting distance goals and walking challenges
  • Runna – A relatively new app, ideal for clear training goals and training assistance.

For Cycling Challenges

  • Komoot – Helps plan long distance rides, with route suggestions and turn by turn navigation.
  • Strava – Also great for cycling, you can track rides, set goals and share with donors.
  • Zwift – A good option for indoor training, with virtual cycling routes and structured workouts.

For Swimming Challenges

  • MySwimPro – Structured training plans and technique tips to improve swimming performance.
  • Swim.com – Tracks laps, strokes and progress, perfect for training towards a swimming challenge.
  • Strava – Track sessions retrospectively with Strava and see all your exercises in one area.
