How does Humanity Direct work with hospitals in Uganda?

Humanity Direct recognises that sustainable healthcare requires strong local partnerships. To ensure effective treatment and long-term outcomes, our healthcare coordinators work closely with Platinum Hospital in Uganda.

Working with Platinum Hospital allows us to leverage existing resources, knowledge, and expertise while strengthening the local healthcare system.

Our Healthcare Coordinator Dickson is in charge of logistics and operations (as it were), and he has been a huge part of building our network of surgeons that perform our operations.

By working directly with Ugandan healthcare professionals, Humanity Direct can provide care that considers the unique needs of our patients face, particularly regarding aftercare and follow-ups, ensuring continuity of care post-surgery.

Logistics are also a crucial part of these collaborations. Many patients live in remote regions, so the Humanity Direct team coordinates safe transportation to ensure patients arrive on time for their surgeries. This logistical support reduces the burden on families and strengthens the hospital’s outreach capabilities. The charity’s emphasis on partnerships thus allows it to provide consistent, high-quality medical care.
