I can’t run, are there other ways I can fundraise?

 

Yes! Whilst many of our supporters run marathons and ultramarathons to raise funds, you don’t have to run to make a difference. There are heaps of creative and impactful ways to help fund life-changing surgeries for children through Humanity Direct.

Other ways to fundraise:

1. Host a Fundraiser

Hosting an event is a great way to bring people together while raising money for surgery costs. Here are a few ideas:

• Charity Quiz Night – Partner with a local pub or host a virtual quiz. Charge an entry fee and donate the proceeds.
• Bake Sale or Coffee Morning – A simple yet effective way to raise funds while bringing your community together.
• Dinner Party for a Cause – Invite friends over, cook a meal and ask for donations instead of bringing a bottle.
• Silent Auction – Get local businesses to donate prizes and auction them off.

2. Get Sponsored for a Challenge

Even if running isn’t for you, there are heaps of other challenge-based fundraisers:

• Walk or Hike Challenge – Set a target distance and ask for sponsorships.
• Swim for Surgery – Swim a set distance over time and share your journey online.
• Cycling Challenge – Take on a long-distance ride and share your journey online.

3. Use Your Skills to Fundraise

• Matched Giving – Ask your employer if they have donation matching to double your impact.
