Do I have to run a specific length?

Does the length of my run matter?

No, you don’t have to run a specific length to fundraise for Humanity Direct, you don’t even have to run.

You have complete flexibility in choosing the distance that works best for you. Whether it’s a 5K run, 10K walk, half marathon, full marathon, or even an ultramarathon, every step you take helps fund life-changing medical treatments for children in need. You can also set your own personal challenge, such as running a certain number of miles over a set period, a specific length each day, or tackling an endurance run over multiple days.

How to choose the right distance

  • Pick a challenge that suits your ability – Whether you’re new to running or an experienced athlete, choose a distance that is achievable but challenging for you.
  • Consider your fundraising goals – A longer or more demanding challenge might encourage more donations, but each person is different and any effort, no matter the length, contributes to making a difference.
  • Think outside the box – You don’t have to stick to official race distances. You could run a marathon over several days, complete a mile every day for a month, or set yourself a unique distance that feels meaningful to you.
  • Get others involved – If you’re not keen on running alone, why not team up with friends or colleagues to complete a collective distance challenge?
