Edrian needed surgery for a congenital defect.
Edrian had hypospadias, a common condition where the ureathra is in the wrong place causing urine to leak which in turn raises the risk of infections.
Corrective surgery was the only way to restore proper function and prevent more serious complications in the future.
As soon as one of our patients has been assessed for surgery we don’t wait for funding to come in. We go ahead and operate. So as soon as we knew that Edrian needed surgery and there was theatre space available we immediately booked in him for his operation.
However, we now need to cover the cost of his operation including the actual surgery and post-op care including pain relief and transport to and from the hospital.
