Shukuran has made a swift recovery after her adenoid surgery

Five-year-old Shukuran was struggling with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which were affecting both her breathing and her day-to-day wellbeing.

She found it difficult to breathe comfortably and suffered from snoring and restless sleep. Her enlarged tonsils and adenoids also made eating more difficult, and she began to lose weight because she was not able to eat enough.

Shukuran needed an operation to remove the enlarged tonsils and adenoids and give her a better chance of breathing and sleeping normally.

Through Humanity Direct, she was able to access the specialist care she needed, with Dr Daglas Kagga performing the operation. The surgery was successful, helping to improve Shukuran’s breathing and giving her the opportunity to enjoy more restful nights and eat more comfortably.

Shukuran’s surgery was made possible thanks to a generous donation from a Trust, whose support has funded 16 operations, giving children and young people like Shukuran access to specialist treatment that can transform their lives.
