Samuel now has a healthy future ahead of him.Â
We’re thrilled to update that Samuel has made a full recovery after undergoing successful surgery to repair a scrotal hernia—a potentially life-threatening condition he had been living with.
A scrotal hernia is a type of inguinal hernia that occurs when a loop of bowel pushes through the inguinal canal and into the scrotum. While it can sometimes be painless, the risk of serious complications—such as incarceration or strangulation of the bowel—is high and requires urgent surgical intervention.
Before the operation, Samuel faced an uncertain future. The hernia put him at constant risk of severe pain, infection, and life-threatening complications. But thanks to the generosity of everyone who donated to Bob's Yates' 1000 mile fundraiser, we were able to book him in for surgery and cover all the costs—from hospital transport to the procedure itself and post-operative care.
Today, Samuel is healthy, active, and no longer at risk of a sudden medical emergency.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated to make this possible.
