Six-year-old Raudah had been living with a non-malignant ossifying fibroma—an expanding benign tumour in her jaw that caused increasing facial swelling and discomfort.
Although not cancerous, the slow, steady growth of the tumour risked affecting her ability to eat, speak, and develop normally, especially at such a young stage of facial growth. There was particular concern that if it continued to grow so rapidly it could affect her eye sight as it had already disfigured the area around the eye socket.
For her parents, the fear of the tumour worsening was matched only by the knowledge that they couldn't afford the specialised surgery she needed.
Thanks to the generosity of Humanity Direct supporters who took part in the XNRG September Ultra, Raudah's surgery was covered.
Under the expert care of consultant maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Daniel Macho, Raudah underwent a delicate operation to remove the fibroma from her jaw. The surgery required exceptional precision to ensure the tumour was fully excised while preserving the surrounding bone and developing facial structures. Dr. Macho performed the procedure successfully, giving Raudah the best possible chance for normal growth and function.
Today, Raudah is recovering beautifully. The swelling that once caused her discomfort is gone, and she can now eat, smile, and speak with far greater ease. As she heals, her face will continue to develop normally—something that would not have been possible without timely surgery.

For her family, this operation is nothing short of life-changing. They no longer carry the heavy worry of watching the tumour grow or the burden of an impossibly high medical bill. Instead, they have hope, relief, and gratitude knowing that their daughter can look forward to a healthy childhood.
All of this was made possible through donations that covered every aspect of Raudah’s care - from transport to and from the hospital, to medical supplies, to her post-operative treatment.
On behalf of Raudah and her family thank you.
