Rashard has had the surgery he needed. 

10-yr-0ld Rashard is smiling again.

At just 10 years old Rashard was diagnosed with lymphoma. What began as swelling and fatigue quickly progressed, leaving him unable to enjoy school, play, or the simple routines of childhood. His condition required urgent surgical intervention but like so many families, the cost of specialist care placed this life-saving treatment out of reach.

Access to cancer surgery remains a major challenge for children in low-resource settings. Delays in treatment can allow conditions like lymphoma to progress rapidly, making outcomes far more uncertain. For Rashard, time was critical.

Thanks to the support of Humanity Direct donors, Rashard was able to receive the surgery he urgently needed.

The procedure was carried out successfully by maxillofacial surgeon Dr Kamulegeya, who carefully removed the tumour while protecting the surrounding structures.

Today, Rashard is recovering well and is looking forward to returning to school.
