Twelve-year-old Murshid is now healing well after successful surgery to remove a pancreatic cyst — a painful fluid-filled sac that had been causing digestive problems.
Before treatment, Murshid struggled with abdominal discomfort and often found it hard to eat or play like other children his age. Although many cysts are benign, his carried the risk of infection, inflammation, and long-term damage to the pancreas if left untreated, making surgery essential for his future health.
The operation was carried out by paediatric surgeon Dr. Ssekabira, who carefully removed the cyst while preserving as much healthy pancreatic tissue as possible to ensure normal digestive function. It was a delicate procedure, but a successful one.
Since surgery, Murshid has already begun to eat more comfortably and has already started to put on weight, gaining strength and energy.
Thanks to the generosity of donors who took part in Septembers XNRG Ultra, every aspect of Murshid’s care was fully funded — from hospital transport and medical supplies to the operation itself and post-op treatment. His future is now brighter, healthier, and filled with possibility.
