Hytham attended one of our clinics with his mum where he was diagnosed with urethra cutaneous fistula, an opening that causes incontinence and recurrent urinary tract infections.
It can be really uncomfortable when the urine constantly makes contact with the skin but more worrying is the risk of infections that can damage organs and tissue if the condition is left untreated.
Surgery was Hytham’s only option to correct this condition.
We're pleased to say that Hytham has now had his surgery - a fistula repair - performed by Dr Dan Namuguzi, Consultant Urologist.
The operation means an end to the day-to-day uncomfortable consequences of the condition and no more worrying about infections.
Donations covered every aspect of Hythams care including the actual surgery, medical supplies used, post-op care and transport to and from hospital.
This is Dr Dan with his brief post-op update.
