Favour has had a skin graft to treat a burn

We're really pleased to announce that Favour has had a skin graft to repair her arm.

Favour was playing when she tripped up and landed with her arm in a boiling pot of water.  With no medical care available her arm was bandaged up and left to heal by itself.  As a result the skin never healed properly leaving a painful wound that risked infection.

Thanks to donations raised at our XNRG Virtual Santa Ultra which raised just over £2000 we were able to pay for Favour's operation as well as three others.

Dr Edmond Odulu, who specialises in trauma surgery, performed a split-thickness skin graft (STSG) - a surgical procedure that involves taking a thin layer of skin from a healthy part of the body and using it to cover damaged or missing skin.

Donations covered all cost of Favours treatment including the actual surgery, medical supplies, post-op care and transport to and from hospital.
