Emily’s Story: Breathing Easy After Adenoidectomy
We’re so happy to share that Emily has successfully undergone surgery for adenoid hypertrophy, and she’s already feeling the difference!
Emily had been struggling with enlarged adenoids—tissue at the back of the nasal passage that, when swollen, can grow to the size of a ping pong ball. This condition can block normal airflow, making it hard for children to breathe through their nose. It often leads to chronic congestion, repeated ear infections, sinus issues, disturbed sleep, and difficulties eating.
To correct this, Emily underwent an adenoidectomy to remove the adenoids, performed by our skilled ENT surgeons, relieving the obstruction and restoring proper airflow.
The results can be life-changing—and Emily’s case is no exception. She’s now breathing more comfortably, sleeping soundly through the night, and finally able to enjoy daily activities without the constant discomfort that held her back.
Emily's operation was one of the many operations funded by Bob's 1000 mile fundraiser. On behalf of Emily, her family and the HD team, thank you to everyone who donated and made this possible.
