Elijah has had the surgery he needed

Elijah has made a great recovery from surgery to correct hypospadias so he can now urinate properly.

The operation - called a hypospadias repair - was performed by Urologist, Dr Dan Namuguzi.  The operation took two hours and it wasn't long before Elijah was discharged from hospital.

Hypospadias repair is a really important operation to fund, especially in children as young as Elijah because where the urine leaks it makes contact with the skin and causes sores.  As children grow up, without surgery,  it can be an embarrassing condition and has been linked to an increased risk of testicular cancer and increases the risks of urinary tract infections.
