Edith

Edith had been living with a growing maxillofacial swelling that gradually began to affect not only her appearance, but also her comfort and confidence.

What started as a small concern developed into a condition that required specialised surgical care, care that was far beyond what she and her family could easily access.

Through Humanity Direct, Edith was connected with expert support and placed under the care of maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Adrian Kamulegeya. After careful evaluation and planning, Edith underwent surgery to remove the swelling and restore both function and form.

The procedure was successful.

In the days following surgery, Edith has been recovering steadily. The swelling that once defined her daily experience is gone, and with it, much of the discomfort and emotional burden she carried. She is regaining her strength, healing well, and beginning to see herself—and her future—in a new light.
