Douglas can breath with ease after adenoid surgery

Seven-year-old Douglas had been struggling with enlarged adenoids and tonsils, which were making it difficult for him to breathe properly, particularly at night.

He suffered from snoring, restless sleep and breathing difficulties, meaning he was not getting the good-quality sleep he needed. This left him tired during the day and made it harder for him to concentrate and keep up at school.

Douglas needed an adenotonsillectomy to remove his enlarged adenoids and tonsils and improve his airway. Through Humanity Direct, he was able to access the specialist treatment he needed, with Dr Daglas Kagga performing the operation.

The surgery was successful, giving Douglas the chance to breathe more easily and sleep more peacefully. With better rest, he can now look forward to having more energy during the day and being able to concentrate and participate more fully at school.

Douglas’s operation was made possible thanks to a generous donation from a Trust, whose support has funded 16 operations for children and young people in need of specialist surgical care.
