We’re delighted to share a successful post-operative update on baby Christine.

We originally met Christine a few months ago when she presented at one of our clinics with two large growths on the back of her head caused by a lack of folic acid.

It was discovered that she also had hydrocephalus and would need an operation to remove the excess fluid from her brain.

Thanks to donations, Christine was able to receive the urgent surgery she needed. Both procedures were carried out by neurosurgeon Dr Hussein Ssenyonjo.

We’re so pleased to share that Christine’s surgery was a success. The growths have been removed and the shunt has taken the pressure off her brain has  giving her the best possible chance for healthy growth and development. She is now recovering well and being closely monitored as she continues to gain strength.

Donations have covered every aspect of Christine’s care — including imaging, surgery, post-operative monitoring, and follow-up appointments.
For Christine, this operation is truly life-changing — and it would not have been possible without your support.
Thank you for helping give her a brighter, healthier future.
