11-month-old Ben’s operation happened at just the right time as he was just beginning to take his first steps.

Ben had hypospadias which meant he couldn't urinate properly. This is a common malformation and one that can only be corrected by surgery.

The major concern is that because hypospadias causes urine to leak, for babies like Ben, it means irritating the skin making it sore and potentially risking infections.

Now Ben's mum doesn't have to worry any more and can focus on watching Ben learning to walk.

Donations covered a hypospadias repair performed by Dr Dan Namuguzi  as well as transport to and from the hospital and post-op care.
