Arthur vital surgery to remove a benign tumour 🩺

We're pleased to update that Arthur has had surgery to remove a sialolipoma - a rare benign tumour - that grows in the salivary glands.

Unable to pay for surgery Arthurs mum had resorted to trying traditional medicine to see if that would reduce the swelling but surgery was the only course of action and without it the tumour began to disfigure Arthur's face.

When HD's healthcare coordinators heard about Arthur they immediately organised a consultation with Maxillofacial Surgeon, Dr. Adrian Kamulegeya, who confirmed that surgery was the only option.

Dr Kamulegeya performed a successful surgical excision to remove the growth.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the XNRG Amersham Ultra. The money raised helped cover all the costs of Arthur's medical care including his scans, the actual surgery,  post-op care and transport.
