Two year old Maria has had the surgery she needed for a life threatening hernia.

The hernia was large and uncomfortable and left untreated it posed life threatening risks as if complications arise they require emergency surgery - a type of medical care that isn't easily available in the areas where we work.

Maria’s family knew she needed surgery, but accessing timely and specialised care was a significant challenge. Thanks to generous donations Maria had a successful hernia repair performed by paediatrician Dr Sekabira.

Since the operation, Maria has made a great recovery, her appetite has returned and she's able to play without any discomfort.
