The Dream Challenges Gorilla Adventure, 26th Feb – 6th March 2026

Trek through the rainforests of the Virunga Mountain Range and encounter endangered species on this once-in-a-lifetime gorilla tracking adventure.

Join a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking adventure in Uganda, February 2026.

Embark on a gorilla tracking adventure with us through the lush rainforests of the Virunga Mountain Range and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Along the way, you’ll trek through scenic valleys, encounter golden monkeys, and enjoy a breathtaking boat ride across volcanic Lake Mutanda in traditional wooden canoes.

The highlight of the trip is tracking the critically endangered Nkuringo Gorilla Family in their natural habitat – an awe-inspiring experience that few will ever have the chance to witness. As you trek through this vibrant forest, you’ll also encounter a diverse array of wildlife, from birds and butterflies to over fifty species of reptiles.

This trek is not only an unforgettable adventure but also a chance to raise vital funds to provide lifesaving and life changing operations for children in Uganda. Your participation will directly contribute to this cause, making your adventure even more meaningful.  Dickson, our healthcare coordinator will host a Humanity Direct dinner one night giving you the chance to find out more about how your trek is helping us fund operations and a chance to say thank you for your support.

The journey concludes with a rewarding opportunity to give back. Participate in various community projects with the Singing Gorilla Project, where you can support local schools, health centers, or help install water tanks for the community.

Key highlights:

  • Trek through valleys, villages, and wildlife-packed jungles
  • Paddle across Lake Mutanda in wooden canoes
  • Track the Nkuringo Gorilla Family in Bwindi Forest
  • Contribute to the Singing Gorilla Project
  • Raise funds for Humanity Direct
Prepare for challenging terrain, hot and humid conditions, and an unforgettable experience in one of the world’s most biodiverse regions. You will be trekking moderate distances but on sometimes difficult terrain and difficult environments. It will be hot and humid in the Bwindi Forest. Day 3 sees us trek up a volcano and so hills should definitely be part of your training regime.

Many participants have low levels of fitness when they register. The point is to train, do your best, and reach your fitness goal while making a big difference for the charity that means the most to you.

That said, we strongly recommend you train for the trekking challenge. There will be long days of trekking in humidity, steep climbs in the mountains and tackle a lot of uneven terrains and overgrown trails in the rainforests.

Once you register for the Gorilla Adventure in Uganda 2024, they’ll send you a realistic training plan. This builds up gradually over time so you’ll be ready and raring to go by the time you depart for Uganda.

This is a self-funded challenge where you pay your registration fee of £349 when booking, then pay for your challenge costs of £2,650 14 weeks before departure (plus airport tax and fuel surcharge capped at £475).  We ask that you raise £1,000 or more for Humanity Direct.
