Abdul can breath properly again following his surgery

Eight-year-old Abdul had been struggling with enlarged adenoids, which were affecting his ability to breathe comfortably and get a good night’s sleep.

His condition caused breathing difficulties, snoring and restless sleep, meaning Abdul was not getting the restful nights he needed. As a result, he was often tired at school and found it difficult to concentrate, making it harder for him to learn and take part fully in school life.

Abdul needed specialist surgery to remove his enlarged adenoids and tonsils. Through Humanity Direct, he was able to have an adenoid tonsillectomy performed by ENT surgeon Dr Daglas Kagga.

The surgery was successful, giving Abdul the chance to breathe more easily and enjoy more restful sleep. With better-quality sleep, he can now look forward to having more energy during the day and being able to focus and participate more fully at school.

Abdul’s operation was made possible by a generous donation from a Trust, whose remarkable support has funded 16 operations for children and young people in need of specialist surgical care.
