We’re thrilled to share a post-operative success story for Malliam.
Malliam, 14, had been living with a cystic ameloblastoma — a benign but aggressively growing tumour along her lower jaw. Over time, the swelling caused pain, made eating difficult, affected her speech, and left her feeling self-conscious at school and in her community.
Without treatment, the tumour would have continued to grow, risking serious long-term complications and further deformity.
Thanks to everyone who took part in the XNRG March Ultra, Malliam was able to undergo a mandibulectomy with a reconstruction plate, a complex operation carried out by Dr Daniel Macho. The surgery successfully removed the tumour and restored the structure and function of her jaw.

We’re delighted to share that Malliam is now recovering well. She can eat and speak comfortably again, and the tumour has been completely removed — giving her the confidence to return to school and enjoy daily life without fear or discomfort.
Every part of Malliam’s care — including surgery, medical supplies, hospital stay, follow-up appointments, and transport to ensure she could attend each stage of treatment safely — was made possible thanks to your generous donations.
This operation has transformed Malliam’s life, relieving her pain and giving her a brighter, healthier future.
