Safina is an 11-month old little girl who needs surgery for an umbilical hernia. If left untreated hernias can become incarcerated or strangulated resulting in emergency surgery, which many families simply cannot access in time. Tragically Safina was abandoned by her parents but is now safely in the care of her grandmother. Unfortunately her grandmother is unable to pay for the surgery so she visited our clinic in Uganda to see if we could help. Hernia surgeries are typical of the highly-effective and low-cost operations we provide and all the money raised for Safina will cover all her costs for her treatment.
