7-year-old Praise is your typical little boy (hence the plaster on his head!). He told our healthcare volunteers that he likes playing with his friends, especially football. However, he has a large umbilical hernia that is causing him discomfort. It protrudes quite significantly and he has knocked it several times while playing. Without treatment complications can arise such as obstruction or strangulation. Praise lives in a remote village far from any medical care so if complications were to set in it could prove fatal as it would be unlikely that Praise would reach a medical facility where emergency surgery could be performed. Surgeon’s are keen for him to have surgery as soon as possible. Donations will cover the cost of the actual surgery, medical supplies and post-operative care.
