9-year-old Latifah has had a very hard time. Two years ago she lost her father and siblings in a house fire. Latifah needs surgery for an umbilical hernia but there is no-one to pay for her treatment as her grandmother, who now cares for her, cannot afford the costs. The hernia is large and doctors would like to operate as without treatment life threatening complications could set in. Treating hernia’s is one of the most cost-effective health interventions in developing countries. Your donation will cover all the surgery, medical supplies, hospital stay and post-op care that Latifah would need to make a full recovery. As well as making Latifah better you’ll also be helping her family avoid getting into debt and further poverty.
