18-month-old Karren has a hiatal hernia - when part of the stomach squeezes up into the chest through an opening ("hiatus") in the diaphragm.
The hernia is giving Karren chest pains and making her uncomfortable. Surgeons have recommended that Karren is operated on as soon as possible to avoid any complications. Karren and her mother live in a rural village miles from any medical facilities. If complications were to set they could prove fatal as it is unlikely they would be able to reach medical care in time.
Donations will cover every aspect of her surgery.
