4-year-old Joramu has made a great recovery after surgery to correct diastasis recti - a condition that sees the abdominal muscles separate. Without surgery Joramu was at risk of serious complications such as the abdominal contents becoming herniated and trapped in the diastasis recti gap. Joramu’s parents both passed away last year ago leaving his grandmother, a subsistence farmer, to care for him. Thanks to Svenja, who ran her first ever ultra marathon to fund this surgery, Joramu will have a healthy future ahead of him and his grandmother has avoided having to get into debt and further poverty. This is Nick with Joramu & his nan shortly after the operation.
