18-year-old Jennifer has a giant fibroadenoma - a large benign lump in her breast. Our healthcare volunteers where visiting her village to assess another patient when they heard about her case. Jennifer told our healthcare volunteers that she had had the lump for some time but didn’t want to get medical care as she knew her family couldn’t afford it. Our healthcare volunteers managed to arrange for Jennifer to be assessed by surgeons who confirmed that her only option to remove such a large mass was surgery. Donations will cover the cost of the surgery, medical supplies, hospital stay and even the cost of transport to and from hospital so Jennifer’s family don’t have to worry about getting into debt and further poverty.
