Fred is a typical three-year-old who loves running and clambering around. Fred has hypospadias - a birth defect of the urethra in males where the urinary opening is not at the correct location. It can be an embarrassing condition to deal with especially when growing up. An operation called a hypospadias repair can correct the condition so it won’t affect him. Surgeons like to perform this operation when the patients are young as it limits complications and has a quicker recovery time. Fred’s family come from a remote village and don’t earn enough to cover the cost of such an operation so we’re hoping that we can cover the bill.
