Elton is a very happy little boy who is just about to start school. Elton’s family are very worried about his hernia that he has had since birth as they believe it is getting bigger. They sought medical treatment a while ago but couldn’t afford the costs of the operation and hoped that the hernia would go away by itself which can happen in some cases among younger children. However, it hasn’t disappeared and after our healthcare volunteers bought him to the medical centre for assessment our surgeon’s said that surgery was his only option.
Hernia’s can pose life-threatening complications that require emergency surgery. As Elton’s family live far from any medical facilities it would be unlikely they would get the help in time if complications were to set in.
Donations will cover the actual operation as well as post-operative care and transport to and from the hospital.
