2-year-old Anita has a hernia that is causing her discomfort. It was hoped that the hernia would go away of its own accord but this hasn’t happened and now surgically removing the hernia is the only option. There are concerns that if the hernia isn’t operated on it could cause complications. Complications can prove fatal as emergency surgery is then needed and for many children they live in rural areas, far from any medical facility that could operate in time. Anita’s family are desperate for their daughter to get the treatment she needs but they are very poor and the cost of the operation is far beyond their means.
