Abdul is one of our younger patients having just turned one. His mother was concerned about a large lump at the top of his leg and brought him to our see our healthcare volunteers when they visited their village. The lump was diagnosed as a inguinal hernia and surgeons have recommended that it is operated on to avoid the hernia becoming incarcerated. Incarcerated hernia’s are a medical emergency and as Abdul lives in a remote area it would be unlikely if complications did arise that he would reach medical care in time. Abdul’s mother is a single mother and cannot afford the cost of an operation. Donations towards Abdul’s operation will cover the actual surgery as well as medical supplies and post-operative care.
