Amilu has made a fantastic recovery following surgery

Four-year-old Amilu was struggling to get the restful sleep and easy breathing every child needs.

Enlarged adenoids and tonsils were obstructing his airway, causing obstructive sleep apnoea, chronic breathing difficulties, loud snoring and restless nights.  As we see in a lot of the children with severe enlarged adenoids, he was finding is hard to eat and there were concerns over whether he was getting enough nutrients.

Thanks to a very generous grant from a trust, Amilu was able to receive the specialist care he needed.

Dr. Daglas Kagga performed an adenotonsillectomy, removing the enlarged tonsils and adenoids.

We’re delighted to share that Amilu’s surgery was a success and his mum told our out-reach workers he now sleeps peacefully through the night and his appetite has picked up.

And with surgery now behind him, Amilu is now looking forward to starting school and ready to take on this exciting new chapter with a healthier and brighter future ahead.
