Two-year-old Shakulu had been struggling to breathe due to enlarged adenoids and tonsils.
He snored heavily, slept restlessly and was often unsettled during the night. Eating had also become difficult, and he had started to lose weight because he wasn’t able to take in enough food.
For such a young child, these difficulties can have a big impact on everyday life — from getting a good night’s sleep to having the energy needed to grow and thrive.
Thanks to a very generous grant from a trust, Shakulu was able to receive the specialist surgery he needed.

ENT surgeon, Dr. Daglas Kagga performed an adenotonsillectomy, removing Shakulu's enlarged tonsils and adenoids to help open his airway and improve his breathing.
We’re delighted to share that Shakulu’s surgery was a success.
He now has the chance to sleep more peacefully, breathe more easily and, most importantly, get back to eating and growing as every two-year-old should.
