John has made a great recovery after vital surgery

John came to Humanity Direct with a huge swelling on his lower jaw that was affecting his health and wellbeing. He needed specialist maxillofacial surgery to remove the affected section of bone and give him the best chance of making a good recovery.

Maxillofacial surgeon Dr Adrian Kamulegeya performed a partial mandibulectomy, carefully removing the affected portion of John’s lower jaw.

This operation was possible thanks to a generous donation that funded 16 operations in total.

We’re delighted to share that John’s surgery was successful, and he is now recovering well. His treatment has given him the chance to move forward without the painful and debilitating swelling that had affected his life.
